Top 3 Reasons To Apply For JAMB Change Of Institution In 2018

Reasons To Apply For Jamb Change Of Institution In 2018

1. Not Scoring Up To Or More Than Jamb Cut Off Mark:

Every Jamb candidate usually have the dream of scoring above 300. However, this doesn’t work for everybody in reality. If you scored less than the general cut off mark for your school of choice, you will not be admitted.

On the other hand, If you score around the Jamb cut off mark, you may also not get admitted as a result of competition. This is a good reasons to change your course or school of choice.

2. Lost Of Interest In The Study Course Or Institution:

Some candidates say, “I don’t want to study in the University I chose earlier, in fact, I have lost interest in the choice of course I put in during Jamb registration.”
This could be that you never liked the school or your parents asked you to change the course. In addition, it could just be that you have a Jamb score that can take you to a better school.

3. You Made A Mistake When Filling Jamb Form And Subject Combinations:

So many persons reported to me that the wrong institution was chosen for them during registration.

For others, they had issues in their Jamb subject combinations and could not fix it when Jamb gave room for correction of details.

If this is your situation you may want to change to your desired institution. Change of course and institution form gives you room to do this.

A release by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju, stated that the Professors, who frowned at the rate of moral decadence among the students, urged the Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede-led administration to use all lawful means to enforce obedience to the school rules and regulations, so that “our students will be found worthy in learning and character; therefore be qualified to obtain our degrees, certificates and diplomas.

47 UNIJOS Students Receive Scholarship Awards From Chinese Government

Chinese Government awarded Fourty Seven [47] University of Jos (UNIJOS) students scholarships. The Scholarship awards worth One Hundred Thousand Naira each.

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Nigeria, has awarded scholarships to 47 deserving students of the University of Jos
Ambassador of China to Nigeria, Dr Zhou Pingjian made the presentation to the students at the Multi-purpose Auditorium of the University while on a visit to Unijos as part of a special collaboration in educational advancement.

The Ambassador who applauded the Vice-Chancellor and the University Administration for the warm hospitality and strong support to the Chinese Community in Jos, described UniJos as a prestigious Institution and said Nigeria is a great nation. Dr. Pingjian noted that Nigeria shares so many things in common with China like the Independence Anniversaries of both countries on 1st of October, both countries being the most populous nations in their continents (Africa and Asia) and both countries being the largest economy in their continents.

The Chinese envoy disclosed that his country is currently projecting a blue print of understanding and cooperation with Nigeria in the educational sector where both countries will continually collaborate in exploiting Educational opportunities for Research and Development.

According to the Ambassador, China is determined by its Vision 2020 to eradicate poverty by 100% and stressed that this can only be achieved when the citizens are educated. He therefore charged Nigerians to accord priority to Education and said a Nation will only prosper when its young people thrive. He assured that China would explore a variety of opportunities with the University as requested by the Vice-Chancellor.

Speaking earlier, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Jos, Professor Seddi Sebastian Maimako commended the Ambassador and the Chinese community for their interest in the University and finding Josites worthy of being awarded Scholarships. Professor Maimako charged the recipients to reciprocate the gesture by being worthy Ambassadors of the University and making the best use of this rare opportunity.

The Vice-Chancellor informed the Ambassador that the University of Jos is a multi campus Federal University with many faculties and Departments housing over 30,000 students.

Professor Maimako also used the opportunity to request the Ambassador to extend their benevolence of the scholarships to postgraduate students and to open windows for Exchange Programmes at Undergraduate and Post-graduate levels where both Institutions can tap from each other’s experience.

He also called on the Chinese Government to further deepen its relationship with the University by establishing a Chinese Resource Centre for collaborative Research especially in the area of Phyto-Medicine and congratulated the Chinese Ambassador and all the citizens of China on their President’s re-election for a second term in office.

Responding, on behalf of the Awardees, Bobai Casmir Ninyio, a visually impaired 300 level Student of the Department of Special Education thanked God and the Chinese Ambassador for the rare gesture and pledged on behalf of his colleagues to make the best use of the opportunity.

High point of the occasion was the presentation of the Scholarship awards worth One Hundred Thousand Naira each to the Forty-Seven (47) Students, several of whom are physically challenged.

After Release of 2018 JAMB Results, What Next? Here's What To Do

We can say that the 2018 JAMB UTME has officially been concluded. While some candidates are counting their gains, others are counting their losses.

Which ever category you fall in, we just want you to know that a high JAMB score is not an automatic ticket to higher institution neither does a low JAMB score automatically disqualify you for admission.

We have seen candidates with high JAMB scores who failed to gain admission into any institution and had to retake JAMB and we have equally seen candidates with low JAMB Scores (Less than 200) who gained admission without having to wait for another JAMB.

So basically, a low or high JAMB score is not the ultimate determinant of who gains and who doesn't gain admission.

So at this point, what we expect all 2018 JAMB candidates to do is to ask the following critical questions?

>> What is my school's cut-off mark ?
>> What is the cut-off mark for my intended course of study?

>> Do I need a change of course/institution?

>> What's the school's Post-UTME Screening like?

>> How Can I prepare adequately for my school's Post-UTME Screening?

The answer to these critical questions will help you know what next step to take towards successfully securing admission this year.

And let's quickly tell you this, take off the retarding mindset that you can not go to a polytechnic. Are they for animals?

If going by your score, you stand a better chance of gaining admission in a polytechnic, for goodness sake, change your institution to a polytechnic if you didn't pick one during your JAMB registration. Unless of course you don't mind patronising JAMB next year. And if that is the case, good luck to you!

Meanwhile, do not forget Solutionclass will be there for you all through the journey. So ensure you visit regularly for updates regarding the 2018/2019 Admission exercise.

Admission Success to you all!

JAMB: Some Candidates yet to get UTME 2018 results days after announcement of release

Candidates of the just concluded 2018 Unified Matriculation Examination, UTME, organized by Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB, have lamented their inability to access the results.

This is coming days after the board announced that it had released the results of over 1.5 million of the 1.6 million candidates who sat for UTME from March 9 to March 17,

The candidates said they had followed instructions by JAMB that they checked their results using their credentials on the JAMB website:www.jamb.org.ng but are getting discouraging messages.

They said the messages from JAMB were that they did not register for the examination or that they did not have any result yet.

A teacher, Mr Joseph Adebola, said five of his students who sat for the test had not got their results and wondered what the problem could be.

Adebola said that he had been so worried, especially as some of the mates of the students had received their results and were concentrating on preparations for the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).

“I have been trying to comfort them so that they can concentrate on the WASSCE coming up in April but it has not been easy.

“JAMB should reduce the tension on the students by releasing their result,’’ he said.

Mr Ben Ugochukwu, also a teacher, said that by not letting the children know their fate in the UTME, the board was destroying their confidence.

“The children are going through psychological stress and need to be relieved.

“ By withholding information from a student who sat for a test you are destroying him or her, especially when the child is convinced he did not violate any rule,’’ Ugochukwu said.

A parent, Mr Stephen Ahmed, said that he personally drove his son to the examination centre and ensured that he followed instructions.

“I am surprised that I cannot access the result of my child, all I continue to see is: `You do not have any result yet.

“I have tried from many locations and devices, believing it was a network challenge but the answer has been the same.

“My worry is that this boy is to write the Certificate Examination in April; if he can’t get the result of the test earlier, what assurance does he have that the one for a future exam will be released?’’ Ahmed asked.

Inquiries by NAN about the fate of candidates in this situation have not yielded results.

The Head of Information of JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, has refused to address the concerns of the candidates by not answering telephone calls made to him.
Signs that JAMB was not going to deliver on its promise emerged when it decided to release the results of the candidates who wrote the test on Friday, March 9.

The board released the results of the Friday test on Monday, March 11, against its pledge to verify all results before releasing them.

The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, had said at a pre-test news conference that the board would take few days to verify results before releasing the results.
