JAMB 2018 Cut-Off Policy Meeting As Commence - Live Updates

This is where you will get live updates, if you intend to monitor, in real time, the outcome of the JAMB 2018 Cut-Off Policy Meeting. The meeting is expected to lay out crucial 2018 admission guidelines, including the determination of the official 2018 Admission Cut-off Marks for various institutions.



The meeting will be Chaired by The Honourable Minister of Education, and it is expected to begin at 11:30am, and we got word that it will air live on NTA. All those watching at that time should please open this post and help us report live.     They are still thanking top government officials who attended the meeting. Other introductory/welcome remarks are still being stated.

    The Minister just concluded his opening remarks, and going into his address proper. Bascially, some political statements.
    He is congratulating the JAMB Registrar, Prof Oloyede, for the tremedous works he's been doing in JAMB.
    The minister has pointed out that All Admissions in all tetiary institutions in the country MUST BE processed by JAMB.
    He has re-iterated that this policy meeting must be fully taken seriously, and no admission must be done before the policy meeting in any year.
    The minister has stated that they will try to hold the policy meeting each year before JUNE.
    The post UME fee must not be more than 2,000 Naira, this time we are going to enforce it.
    The minister has stated that he is not against Post-UTME but the cost must not be above N2,000, and this time, they will definitely enforce it.
    The Admission Policy meeting stipulates the guidelines and modalities for admission into tertiary institution for each Academic Session. Hence, no Admission into tertiary institution should be announced before the Policy meeting
    The Minister has now declared the Policy Meeting Open.
    JAMB will now be releasing MATRICULATION LIST. Anyone who is not in that list is not a Nigerian Student. And anyone who goes ahead to attend school will not graduate.
    The Minister is done with his remarks so the JAMB Registrar has now been called for his presentation.
    The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Oloyede, is giving his opening remarks, and greeting education dignitaries who have attended the meeting.
    The JAMB Registrar is giving kudos to the Host of the Policy Meeting.
    The registrar is currently stating the essence of the Policy Meeting.... They are refering to the 2017/2018 Admission processes through CAPS and how successful it was.
    Via information from CAPS, Universities are still the most preferred institution.

  3. He's pleading for students to be flexible. According to him, student always want to read a particular course at all cost. e.g. Someone who wants to read medicine would never want the option of Pharmacy, even when given. He pointed that we need more Universities but there are some conditions to be considered before this.

    A ghanian who applied into UI was denied admission because he/she didn't write post-UTME.

  4. The JAMB registrar is pleading with Universities to accept Pass in Mathematics for BLIND Students, saying there's no was a blind student will be able to credit mathematics.

    JAMB is currently investigating the guy who wrote JAMB 6 times and later graduated with 1st Class.

    UNILORIN is the best in admission. They admitted students from all states including 117 Foreigners, even from Ghana....

    JAMB Registrar is backing Post-UTME saying he supports Multi-Level Assessments before arriving at cut-off.

    Candidates of distance learning, part-time and sandwich will now go through JAMB.

    JAMB is talking about IBASS.

    JAMB is trying to eliminate the need for Change of Course and Institution by letting students know which institutions can admit them depending on what they have.

    It seems to policy meeting will soon be over. We're not too sure of the MINIMUM SCORE required for entery into tertiary institutions yet.... Seems they will be using the ones for last year.... We're still watching.
